An Immersive Whole-Firm Remodel

An Immersive Whole-Firm Remodel

Some companies do not need another idea. They need concentrated help changing how the company actually works. The Foundry is the deepest level of engagement offered by Design Build Success: an immersive, custom-built transformation for residential design-build companies ready to make meaningful change across the organization.

Leadership. Financial Performance. Team & Culture. The Design-Build Operating System. Marketing. Not as separate projects. As one company.

WHEN FIXING ONE THING IS NOT ENOUGH

Business problems rarely stay neatly inside departments.

A margin problem may begin in sales and design. A production problem may actually be a leadership problem. A team problem may be rooted in unclear roles, weak systems, poor communication, or authority that has never really been delegated. Marketing may be creating opportunities the company is not prepared to fulfill. And sometimes the owner has simply become the connective tissue holding too much of it together. Individual improvements can help. But some companies reach a point where the business itself needs to be looked at as a whole. The Foundry is built for that work.

BUILT AROUND YOUR COMPANY

There is no standard Foundry curriculum.

Every engagement begins by understanding the company as it actually exists—not how the org chart says it works or how the process manual says it should work. We look at where the company is today, what success should actually look like, what the financials reveal, how work moves through the company, where decisions happen, where responsibility is unclear, where margin, time, energy, or trust is being lost, what still depends too heavily on the owner, what the leadership team sees, what the broader team experiences, and what must become different for the company to reach its next stage. From there, Design Build Success develops a focused engagement around the right work, in the right order.

THE WHOLE COMPANY IS THE WORK

The people who carry the company participate in changing it.

The people who carry the company participate in changing it.

The Foundry is not coaching for the owner with occasional assignments for everyone else. Depending on the firm and the work required, that may include owners, executives, department leaders, designers, salespeople, project managers, production staff, marketing leaders, and other key members of the team. The work may reach across all Five Areas of Design Build Success: Leadership, Financial Performance, Team & Culture, The Design-Build Operating System, and Marketing. The visible problem is not always the real constraint. The work follows the constraint.

INSIGHT IS NOT THE DELIVERABLE

Deep work. Inside the business.

The Foundry stays close to implementation. Decisions become roles, processes, tools, meetings, standards, numbers, conversations, and behaviors. The company puts them into practice. We observe what happens. What works gets strengthened. What does not work gets adjusted. New constraints become visible. Then the work continues. Understand what is happening. Make the necessary decisions. Put them into practice. Observe the results. Adjust. The goal is not merely to leave behind better ideas. It is to leave behind better capability.

Should We Talk About The Foundry?

Should We Talk About The Foundry?

Every Foundry engagement begins with understanding. Start with a conversation about the company, where it is today, what you want it to become, and what appears to be standing in the way. If The Foundry appears to be the right fit, Design Build Success will develop a proposed scope around the company, the people involved, the work required, and the level of support needed to create meaningful change.

STEP AWAY TO SEE THE COMPANY CLEARLY

Meaningful change sometimes requires getting out of the building.

The Foundry can include facilitated offsite work designed specifically around the company and the changes it needs to make. These are not generic retreats. An offsite may be used to define the company you are actually trying to build, establish strategic priorities, redesign organizational structure, clarify roles and decision authority, develop leadership capacity, map the complete job cycle, solve persistent cross-department problems, establish financial targets, and make difficult decisions that have been postponed. The objective is not a memorable meeting. The objective is what becomes different when everyone returns to work.

A COMPANY THAT CAN KEEP GETTING BETTER

The goal is to leave behind a company that is better at making itself better.

The Foundry is not designed to make a company permanently dependent on Design Build Success. As systems become clearer, leaders become stronger, responsibility moves to the right people, financial information improves, and the team becomes better at solving problems together, the company develops greater capacity to improve itself. That may be one of the most important outcomes of the work.

A SIGNIFICANT COMMITMENT

The Foundry is not a course, a mastermind, or a predetermined package.

The Foundry is not a course, a mastermind, or a predetermined package.

It is a substantial, custom engagement involving meaningful participation from the company and from Design Build Success. Scope may include members of the DBS team, outside specialists, onsite and offsite work, individual coaching, team development, systems work, implementation support, and ongoing involvement over an extended period. The exact duration, team, sequence, and investment depend on the company and the transformation being undertaken. The Foundry is built around the work—not around a predetermined package.

WHO THE FOUNDRY IS FOR

The Foundry may be appropriate when incremental fixes are no longer enough.

It is for companies with real momentum but increasing complexity; companies where the owner remains involved in too many important decisions; companies where multiple areas need to change together; and companies where leadership capacity, role clarity, financial performance, or connected systems have not kept pace with growth. It may not be the right fit for a company looking for a quick tactic, a single template, or someone else to make the changes for them. The Foundry requires participation.
